The villages of Montchavin and Les Coches
In the heart of the Tarentaise valley, Montchavin is a very old Savoyard village, typical with its wooden chalets and even its farm in the middle of the village.
The village of Les Coches, at an altitude of 1450m, is more recent and focusing on leisure, both for winter and summer.
Its moderate altitude allows it to retain a large vegetation, mainly of conifers.
In winter, the last descent at the end of the day along the paths lined with pine trees leaves a desire to “Come back”…
In summer; the walks are shaded and bucolic.
The architecture has been completely mastered there, perhaps in reaction to the concrete towers of high-altitude resorts: the buildings must not exceed four floors, the facades are in wood or stone, which gives the village a warm and human dimension.
Paradiski domain
The Paradiski area was created in 2003, thanks to the cable car connection (the Vanoise Express) between the slopes of La Plagne and those of Les Arcs.
425 km of slopes, peaks over 3250 m, a glacier, and above all a variety of descents for all tastes.
The large boulevards of La Plagne (blue slopes) allow fun skiing, family descents where some make big turns from one side of the slope to the other, while others prefer to pick up speed on the occasion of these long schuss…
The more sporty slopes of Les Arcs will satisfy those who take the first chairlift at 9 am and close at the end of the day.
Our apartment is in the center of this ski area.
